Andersen Interior Contracting was brought in to modify and rectify the scope of the brand new four story, 78,000+ square foot Union County Family Court in Elizabeth, New Jersey. With a great amount of field coordination with other trades for our work, particularly at the lobby staircase due to an incredible level of difficulty and concern as the job progressed, we were able to overcome a series of challenges to the stair design. This project scope included metal framing of magnificent curved drywall ceilings for each of the six courtrooms which is shown in great detail. AIC built it by using Armstrong Drywall Grid Curved Ceiling Systems with metal stud framed light coves & pockets around all four sides of the suspended ceiling. We also furnished and installed a beautiful custom Armstrong METALWORKS RH200 ceiling system with light cove and axiom trim on three sides of the ceiling at the main entrance lobby. Stainless steel column covers were also provided and installed by Andersen, along with numerous hollow metal doors including all frames and hardware, countless fire extinguisher cabinets and over 160 access doors. Andersen Interior Contracting also performed all of the exterior heavy gauge metal framed beam enclosures at the skylight above the main entrance area which was seventy-seven feet above the ground. In addition, we were tasked with fabricating a template for the curved soffits above each of the six courtroom entrances and had our sister company, Corporate Woodworking, prefab the soffit in the shop and then had them installed at the jobsite.
